Our client is seeking to appoint a visionary and values driven Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership and drive the organisation's mandate forward. Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will set strategic direction, ensure organisational excellence and financial sustainability, and act as principal steward of the organisation's mission within a complex, multi stakeholder public environment.
Key requirements
- A Doctoral degree (NQF Level 10)
- A minimum of 15 years' relevant senior leadership experience, with at least 7 years at executive level (CEO, Deputy CEO or equivalent)
- Proven experience leading large, complex, knowledge intensive organisations within the public or private sector, research, higher education, innovation, or science systems
- Demonstrated success leading multi disciplinary, matrixed organisations across multiple programmes or portfolios
- Track record of effective engagement with Boards, government structures, and senior officials
- Sound working knowledge of the PFMA, National Treasury Regulations, and public sector financial governance
- Strong track record in resource mobilisation, stakeholder partnerships, and financial oversight
- Visionary, ethical leadership style with strong public facing presence and gravitas at national and global forums
