The role

In this role, you will take ownership of financial controlling for a portfolio of Swedish real estate investments and act as a trusted finance partner to Investment Managers, Asset Managers and other key stakeholders. You will oversee a broad range of fund finance activities, including budgeting, forecasting, local GAAP and IFRS accounting, reporting, tax declarations, audit documentation and liquidity management. 

Beyond delivering high-quality financial control and reporting, you will help strengthen financial governance, support informed decision-making and contribute to the continued development of the Fund Finance function. You will work in a dynamic and international environment where structure, collaboration and commercial understanding are key to success. 

You will report directly to Abdul Gargoum and work closely with senior leaders across Investments, Asset Management and Finance, serving as a key partner in supporting the performance and growth of the portfolio. 

This is a maternity cover role on a fixed-term contract until mid-July 2027. 

Key responsibilities  

  • Lead the financial oversight and controlling of a portfolio of Swedish real estate investments, including standing assets, development projects and joint ventures. 
  • Own the delivery of quarterly and annual financial reporting in accordance with relevant GAAPs, ensuring high quality, accuracy and timely delivery. 
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, covenant reporting, cost controlling, regulatory filings, audit support and tax-related processes. 
  • Act as a trusted finance partner to Investment and Asset Management teams by providing insights, analysis and recommendations that support business decisions. 
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, depositaries and other external service providers to ensure efficient and well-governed processes. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, systems and reporting capabilities across Fund Finance. 
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Fund Finance team. 
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues where relevant, helping to build capability and consistency across the team. 

Your experience and skills  

As an ideal candidate, you have a relevant Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and substantial experience from fund finance, financial controlling, audit or a similar finance role, preferably in an international environment. Experience from BIG4 audit, real estate controlling or investment management is an advantage. 

In addition, we hope you possess: 

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including Local GAAP and IFRS.
  • A solid understanding of financial controlling, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and liquidity management. 
  • The ability to balance attention to detail with a broader commercial and strategic perspective. 
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across functions and seniority levels. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear insights and recommendations. 
  • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work in a dynamic environment. 
  • A collaborative communication style and the ability to create alignment, obtain buy-in and drive initiatives forward. 
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to take ownership, guide projects and support the development of others. 
  • Fluency in Swedish and English (written and spoken)
