Special Education Team Chairperson Building-Based Responsibilities:
Chair special education meetings and facilitate planning meetings at Lynnfield Middle School
Paperwork and follow-up related to special education meetings, including monitoring of timelines and scheduling
Assist in transition planning for students from elementary to middle school, middle school to high school
Support with data, grants, or information needed by DESE or at the district level
Gather and enter data for yearly federal data requirements (Civil Rights, etc.)
School staff observations as part of the Teacher and Paraprofessional evaluation systems for special education staff
Plan Professional Development, as appropriate, for professional and paraprofessional staff
Support teacher development through consultation, meetings, observations, and feedback
Provide oversight for Student Services and specialized programs, including managing the process for student entrance and exit to programs and program oversight
Attend necessary nightly meetings as requested by the Director of Student Services to represent the Student Services Department
Oversee cases, attend meetings, and observations for students placed out of district as requested by the Director of Student Services
Represent Lynnfield at collaborative special education director meetings as requested by the Director of Student Services
Support the Director of Student Services with ongoing projects related to the Student Services Department, such as updating manuals, procedures, and communications
Coordinate with building principals and the administrative leadership team on a regular basis
Oversee data collection, and work collaboratively to plan student programming with Coordinator of ESY
Work collaboratively with other team chairs throughout the district as needed
Other responsibilities as determined necessary and appropriate by the Director of Student Services

Work year: 210 days to be agreed upon by the Director of Student Services and Special Education Coordinator.

Salary Range: $125K to $130K per year, commensurate with experience
